You thought we’d stop after 30 years of choral excellence? Not a chance. So come sing in this year’s Midwinter Vocal Festival with Dr. Byron McGilvray and friends! All singers welcome! Rehearsals begin on December 27, and the festival will conclude with a concert on January 5, 2020, at the Thunder Mountain High School auditorium. (Time TBA)
In a partnership with the Orpheus Project, we’ll introduce the world of opera to Juneau students through engaging classroom visits! Students will experience a performance of the first-known opera written by a female composer while exploring voice types, musical styles, dramatic conventions, and ways of telling stories through music.
In cooperation with Orpheus Project’s presentation of Francesca Caccini’s La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola di Alcina, February 21-23 at JDHS.
