Juneau Lyric Opera Call for Auditions: Die Fledermaus
Celebrate 50 Years of Opera Magic with Us!
Juneau Lyric Opera is excited to announce auditions for our upcoming production of Die Fledermaus, celebrating our 50th anniversary. We’re bringing this beloved operetta back to the stage where it all began in 1975!
Audition Information:
- Audition Dates/Times:
- Saturday, September 14 from 3:00pm-5:00pm
- Sunday, September 15 between 1-3pm (callbacks only)
- Location: Holy Trinity Church, 325 Gold Street
- What to Prepare:
- 16 bars (roughly one minute of music) of a classical or operatic piece that best showcases your vocal abilities
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for a dance/movement segment
- Be prepared for a brief cold read from the script
- Sign-Up to audition, or inquire for more information by emailing director@juneauopera.org
- Provide the name of your audition piece
- Email a copy of your music for the pianist to prepare (as a courtesy to the pianist, please provide the music no later than September 12th)
- Auditions will go by order of arrival between 3:00pm-5:00pm
- If you are interested in auditioning but unavailable during the scheduled audition times, please email us!
- Auditions open to residents of SE Alaska. You must provide your own housing and transportation if you are traveling from outside the City and Borough of Juneau.

- Production: Fully staged with present day and historical references, Schirmer Edition score sung in English
Rehearsal Schedule:
- Music and Staging Rehearsals will begin in January
